I'll have a bunch of these at the gig at the Windmill next week if you're planning on coming to that and want one. If not, I'll let you know on here when the paypal thing is sorted.
I did try to get these CDs ready for the Moseley Folk Festival, that I played on Saturday, but didn't sort them out in time. The festival was really good though - I played at ten to eight in a small tent, and seemed to go down okay... thanks to the two blokes that cheered when I announced I was going to play Private detective and gave me a can of beer after I played!
New songs to listen to. Thanks to the SRS band.Have a little look at the SRS myspace and you can listen to a couple of the recordings I did a couple of weeks ago - I've put up "Pupkin" and "I'm gonna go to bed and when I wake up I'm gonna be someone else" - both of these songs will be on the eleven track CD I'm going to start selling at gigs for a few pounds as soon as I have some artwork sorted. Here's a link to the myspace - let me know what you think:

I played my birthday gig on Tuesday night, with the band, and it was really good fun - the songs I played with the band were: Idiot Food, The Angriest Dog in the World, Captain Non-entity, You Be A Friend I'll Be A Friend to You, Kevin Rowland, and A Funny Thing You Said. Don't know if I'll be playing a gig with them again, although I'd certainly like to some time, but I am going to try to round them up again to record the versions of a couple of the songs - Angriest Dog seemed to work really well. And I loved the sax on A Funny Thing a lot too. It was good.
I've done some more recording! And I've arranged a gig in Berlin!Yeah, a friend called Simon came down to Croydon for the Weekend and turned my flat into a little recording studio. I played about 11 songs or so and they seemed to come out really well, I think. We had a rest from recording on Saturday night, when we went to see Jack Mountain play in Kilburn (he was great, although his vocal was a bit too low in the mix for people to know what he was singing a lot of the time; but I knew the songs and a lot of the words so was alright). Hopefully I'll be able to turn these recordings into an album of some sort. i think the album will be called "This Is My Own Personal Way Of Dealing With It All". I was toying with the idea of calling it "Meet The All New Superman Revenge Squad", but I've gone off that now.
And today I arranged a gig in Berlin for the end of November, with someone called Susie Asado, who sounds really good from the stuff I've heard on the internet. Me and some friends were planning on visiting Berlin sometime, so I thought I'd try and play a gig or two whilst I was there. Might be quite exciting. I hope some of the people there will get on with my lyrics! It is probably quite unlikely that they will know what the Whitgift Centre is, but you never know...
The band that are joining me to play my songs on my birthday in two weeks have a Cellist now. And it's all sounding rather nice.

I came fourth. Dandelian radioI just found out I came fourth in the Green Man competition - three places away from playing at the festival, but still quite good considering there were apaprently 287 bands that entered. So, cheers to everyone that voted for me!
And Jeff Grainger just played one of my songs on dandelian radio - http://www.dandelionradio.com/thismonth.htm
Just played in a church. This Ain't No Picnic.Just got back from playing in a church in Gypsy Hill - when I agreed to play the gig I thought it would be in some dingy church hall, but no: it is actually in the main bit of a rather pleasent church. And so the sound was great. I will ask to play there again sometime. And maybe record something there or something.
It seems I will be playing at the "This Ain't No Picnic" festival thing at the end of September, which promises to be pretty good - I'll whack it onto the gigs listings at the top of this page as soon as I find out which day I'm playing - I've asked to play the same day as jam on bread, just because I saw he was playing and really enjoyed watching him play when I was on the same bill a him in Oxford.
Am planning on doing some recording this weekend - my good friend Simon is coming down to try to turn my flat into a recording studio for two days. Hopefully it'll work out well and I'll actually have a CD full of songs I like that I can maybe even sell at gigs. Will let you know.
